The Colegio de Traductores Públicos is responsible for controlling and administering the registration of Sworn Translators as supporting technical experts, within the Argentine justice system.

In Buenos Aires the association is called the Colegio de Traductores P├║blicos De la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, abbreviated as CTPCBA. The association represents Sworn translators (official translators) and as a charter member of the FAT (Argentine Federation of Translators) it also ensures that these professionals conform to accepted levels of standards and ethics. The CTPCBA is also a member of the International Federation of Translators (FIT).

Many documents required for official purposes in Argentina will first need to be translated into Spanish by a registered public translator and then verified and stamped by the Colegio de Traductores Públicos. A list of registered translators can be obtained directly from the association.
