Generally the medical coverage will be restricted to hospitals and doctors associated with that particular hospital organisation, and each hospital supplies their own number to call in an emergency. Premiums for a Plan de Salud are generally payable monthly and discounts usually apply for signing up an entire family rather than just an individual. It is possible to visit hospitals without having a plan de salud but then you'll be subjected to long queues in public hospitals or high one-off fees in private hospitals. |
