Residencia Transitoria is the immigration status given to people entering Argentina for the purposes of tourism, business or certain other temporary reasons, where those people are not in possession of a permanent or temporary residence certificate. Residencia Transitoria is implicitly given at the border assuming that the traveller meets basic immigration conditions (i.e. possesses sufficient funds for the duration of their stay and holds a valid visa or comes from a country that doesn't require a visa). Normally such travellers are allowed to stay in the country for a maximum of three months at a time unless they extend their permit at the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones Residencia Transitoria does not allow the traveller to perform paid work within Argentina. |
