Chubut is one of the large provinces in the patagonian region of Argentina. Tourism has been steadily growing in this area of sparsely populated natural beauty, especially on the Peninsula Valdés where the nature reserve (a World Heritage Site) is inhabited by seals, sea lions and other creatures of the sea, and further inland it is possible to see interesting animals such as rheas and guanacos. Interestingly, there are still some welsh speaking communities in the province (especially in Trelew and Trevelín), having retained their language ever since migrating to Argentina in the mid to late 1800's.
