Río Negro

Río Negro province lies at the northern end of Patagonia, below La Pampa and Buenos Aires provinces of central Argentina. Fishing, agriculture and horticulture are some of the main industries of the province, with around 70% of the country's apples and pears produced here.

Tourism is also a major industry in Río Negro, with the beautiful Andean Lakes district near San Carlos de Bariloche being especially popular. Bariloche is considered by some people to be a piece of Switzerland within Argentina. The Cerro Catedral is also very popular, being the largest ski centre in South America.

Rio Negro's atlantic coast also receives its fair share of tourists, especially to Las Grutas and Playas Doradas beach towns.
