Tierra del Fuego is the southernmost province of Argentina and is located on the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, which also hosts part of Chile to the west. The province's capital Ushuaia lays claim to the title of southernmost city in the world, though there are some small towns further south which like to make the same claim. Ushuaia is a popular base for explorations into Antarctica since the (Argentinian) Antarctic peninsula is little more than a thousand kilometres away. Tierra del Fuego National Park is also a popular attraction with its glaciars, waterfalls, forests and animal life.
